I’m passionate about our work because:
Our team has a commitment to equity and opening doors for youth who need it most. Through the work that we are able to do, we can better ensure that every learner has someone in their corner and has access to the pathway needed for college or a career. As a first-generation college graduate who followed a non-linear path to earning my degree, the impacts of opportunity, access and awareness are a personal and professional passion of mine.
My favorite learning experience is:
One that is interwoven through multiple disciplines and skillsets. More often than not, these learning experiences empower me to be hands-on and to work and learn with others. I also continue to learn invaluable lessons from productive failure.

I’m currently learning about:
How to better reach new and existing audiences, as well as how to engage and enable our youth. I’m always interested in learning about new and cutting edge communication techniques. This year I’m also focusing on learning and practicing the power of gratitude and vulnerability.
I’m currently working on:
Becoming a better leader, making our podcast go viral and leading our Future of Work and Place-Based Education campaigns (stay tuned for a book coming in 2020). I’m constantly thinking about our team’s event strategy and I’m continuing to hone my writing skills: both personally and professionally.

As Vice President of Growth & Impact, Jessica creates and implements processes and practices within existing partnerships, manages new partnership development and success, and oversees our growth in the field, and our overall impact. Jessica leads Getting Smart’s consulting practice with a relationship-first focus, supports project and staffing alignment, oversees contracting, and is committed to project success. Jessica catalyzes community connections, engagements, and partnerships to drive our event strategy and helps partners and team members create engaging sessions and workshops.
